30th SolarPACES Conference

Our project will be very well represented in the SolarPACES Conference, taking place 8 – 11 October 2024 in Rome, Italy. Three partners will be present:

  • University of Seville: Manuel Jerez Gonzalez will present a poster for a publication called “Optical Fiber as Solar Radiation Collector for Radiometric Measurements “, where they study the impact of the different parameters of the optical fiber when using it for capturing solar radiation in the context of the radiometric measurements.

  • CIEMAT: Patricia Palenzuela will present a poster reflecting their project work: The integration of a novel Central Receiver CSP-CAES (Concentrating Solar Power-Compressed Air Energy Storage) plant with Reverse Osmosis desalination, which allows a constant 24/7 operation. This integration will be evaluated at a pilot scale at the Plataforma Solar de Almería where the desalination plant driven by the air from the CAES will be implemented in early 2025. More info here.

  • CENER: Javier Baigorri Martínez will present a poster introducing the novel concept of the project, developed in collaboration with Doosan Škoda Power, SoftInWay, University Roma Tre, the University of Seville, and Aalborg CSP. The poster features the thermodynamic analysis of a medium-scale plant (25 MWe) in Spain.
